We define integrity as "Doing the right thing, well". This is our central value. Within organisations doing the right thing comes down to enhancing and sustaining high levels of Community, Contribution & Recognition.
Our view of higher values and business ethics, which rest on integrity, is that they must be carefully considered, practical, widely shared and lived in relationships daily. They musn't be vague personal aspirations, or tucked away out of sight in corporate literature.
We encourage every organisation that we work with to develop a Cultureship Contract which sets out its treasured and lived values. It is a pledge of what all stakeholders can expect to be offered - and what is expected of them. In this way values and business ethics are brought alive as a constant prompt, guide and reminder.
Our own Cultureship Contract captures our own most treasured values:-
Integrity
Excellence
Knowledge
Reciprocity
Hope
Cultureship as our method of building better corporate culture and Cultureship Contracts as our way of embedding values and business ethics in productive, rewarding and sustainable ways was inspired by three key beliefs which grew out of our ongoing engagement with many organisations.
People, when they come together in a productive community, can achieve superb and sustainable results.
It is almost inevitably the case that a bad place to work is a place of bad work, no matter what excuses or evasions are offered.
Corporate culture is not something which can be willed, imagined, bullied or manipulated into place; corporate culture, in the final analysis, is a matter of the heart - and it either feels right, or it feels very wrong.
